Feature Comparison of the IntelligentEdgeTM Virtual PBX
and Vina Technologies BOX Software
The groundbreaking IntelligentEdge Managed Application Solution offers applications that
are delivered from the centrally managed and deployed IntelligentEdge 1200.
One of those applications is a Virtual PBX that offers the most commonly used features of
dedicated PBX systems without the need for PBX specific hardware on the Customers Premises.
Virtual PBX (vPBX)
DaRee Technology’s Virtual PBX allows End Users to use traditional, generic “Black Phones”, e.g. those purchased at office supply or department stores. In addition, an optional sophisticated PC Browser Based Graphical User Interface (GUI) is available to offer easier to use and more functionality than is available with the standard Telephone User Interface (TUI) that uses the familiar “flash hook” and touch pad interface. The features are grouped into the following optional components: Call Management, Business Productivity, and Personal Productivity.
Call Management Feature Group provides the cornerstone of the Virtual PBX.
It offers the most common features found in many competitive PBX systems.
The features in this group are primarily concerned with call management
– the placing and receiving of telephone calls.
Business Productivity Feature Group The features in this optional feature group are designed to improve
the productivity of the business as a whole.
Personal Productivity Feature Group The features in this optional feature group offering are designed
to improve the productivity of each IntelligentEdge End User.
Vina’s BOX software
The features in this optional software component are similar to a Centrex service offered by a Central Office switch, but without the need for dedicated lines to the Central Office for each extension. Vina’s implementation requires each IAD to have the BOX software installed that obviously increases the service provider’s operational costs via expensive truck rolls to install the application.
